Web Designer

Job description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Web Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing websites that align with our clients’ branding and business goals. You will collaborate with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are both visually compelling and technically feasible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Website Design & Layout: Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize website concepts and user flows.
  • Brand & Style Guidelines: Develop and maintain style guides (color palettes, typography, iconography) to ensure brand consistency.
  • User Experience (UX): Collaborate with UX researchers or use data-driven insights to optimize site layouts, navigation, and overall user experience.
  • Graphic Elements: Design original graphics, banners, and other visual elements that enhance the website aesthetic.
  • Responsive Design: Ensure all websites are mobile-friendly and render correctly across different devices and browsers.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with web developers to translate designs into functional code, troubleshooting design issues as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct design reviews and usability tests to gather feedback and iterate on designs.
  • Maintenance & Updates: Provide ongoing support for visual updates, ensuring that all design changes align with brand standards and usability best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in web design or a similar role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite—Photoshop, Illustrator, XD—or Figma, Sketch).
    • Strong understanding of HTML and CSS (basic knowledge of JavaScript a plus).
  • Design Principles: Excellent sense of color theory, typography, layout, and branding.
  • UX/UI Knowledge: Familiarity with user-centered design methods and best practices.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Collaborative mindset, team player attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Portfolio showcasing a range of web design projects.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Basic familiarity with SEO best practices.
